A very dynamic, enterprising Mahendra Chowhan and his family with a dream of a flourishing enterprise, a  strong   conviction to make it happen and an unshakeable faith in his desire to excel in everything he undertakes, started Vardhman Pharma as a business opportunity. Thus, in July 1988, the enterprise was started in a small way. Today his passion for perfection and commitments to his dreams has made his employees a part of the extended family. He strongly considers Vardhman Pharma as fountainhead of happiness and a foundation of individual expression.

                     The key mantra for him is Excellence in performance, achievement and converting challenges into results in all dimension of life. He believes that everything and every moment in life is a learning process and lending credence to our USP. The Best is yet to come. It is his desire to excel in everything that he undertakes, which has shaped Vardhman Pharma into one of the brightest stars in the pharmaceutical distribution scenario.

The youngest son of a hardworking marwari family, the self-made and successful individual drew the inspiration and desire to work from his father, who toiled away in Bangalore, far away from his family in Rajasthan. In 1973, when he was in his secondary school, he shifted to Bangalore. No sooner, while doing his matriculation with his parents persuading him to discontinue his schooling, he decided to assist the family. He does not regret having made this move. Not pursuing further studies after SSLC has never been a hindrance to this hard working entrepreneur who with sheer hard work and immense faith in himself has achieved what most educated youth aspire for, after years of toil.

After gaining experience in Pharma distribution, the sector where he worked, Mahendra along with his brother decided to set up a firm of their own. Without being equipped with any major educational degree, it was the inspiration drawn from his father and brother that motivated him all along. Vardhman Pharma thus started out with a humble beginning in terms of investment but with a rich and ambitious vision to scale new heights.

In 1998, when his elder brother diversified into a new venture of specialty drugs, the entire financial and operational burden of Vardhman was shifted to him. In addition there was a major setback to this investment from a JV Company. It was a very demanding situation as the challenges of business were to be handled. This was both a personal and professional setback for him. But he took up this as a challenge, never losing faith in the Almighty. His goodwill with friends and reputations in the market came to his rescue.

An active member and an erstwhile participant of a Leadership training program called MILT (McGrath Institute of Leadership Training), Mahendra Chowhan is grateful to this organization. Time and again he acknowledges the program’s contribution to his personal and professional success. The association with this organization helped him combine social, business & family life. As known, without involving oneself in socializing, life is useless.
